Being kind never goes out of style. Kindness is not just being polite or nice. Kindness means giving help or assistance to another without the hope or expectation of reward. You are not really kind if you expect a thank you after giving someone a gift. Nice. Polite given the situation, but not kind.
Kindness is a genuine act. When you voluntarily give of yourself for the betterment of others, this is a genuine act of kindness. The world is better when people are kind, and kindness can never be overrated. Being polite is great. Being nice is fine as well. However, true kindness outweighs them all.
If each person just did one random act of kindness every day, and happiness would fulfill the world place to live in. Kindness is about looking at the world selflessly through the eyes of others. Just think if everyone were looking at situations wholely rather than how the situation only affects themselves, this would open people's eyes to how others may be suffering.
Empathy is one step towards the eye-opening experience of understanding others' points of view. Acting on that empathy for the betterment of others without the presumption of how you can benefit is kindness. Let us make the world a better place! Try taking a breath and looking at the world through the eyes of someone else who may be suffering. Think of a way to make things better for them and act on it.
Random acts of kindness can happen every day. They need not be dramatic, expensive, or completely life-altering. Start small. We can help one other and, in turn, make for a brighter, happier tomorrow for all. Be kind.
